Heat Shield Formula 51

HeatShield Formula 51 is an insulating, high-temperature refractory mortar, developed specifically for parging smoke chamber walls. (The smoke chamber is above the damper and below the flue.) When properly applied, it will restore the integrity of your fireplace. This dry mix product product will insulate, seal gaps, and smooth the smoke chamber walls as required by both NFPA and IRC codes. Available in a 30 lb.  pail.  Mix 3 ½ quarts of water per half bucket to start. (Or start with 6 quarts in a large mixing tub and mix the full bucket).  Be sure to  must mix/shake the dry contents of the container before dividing them into two separate containers.
