CalCoat-127® is a general purpose insulating cement that is easy to trowel and resists wetting after initial application.  It can be painted with water or oil-base paints. CalCoat-127® is a proprietary blend of hydraulic cement, calcium silicate and inorganic mineral fibers that provides a smooth finish over high-temperature insulation. It offers protection from corrosion under insulation, and no wire mesh is required. It can also be used as a general-purpose insulating cement, as it is easy to trowel and resists wetting after initial application. One bag will cover a minimum of 30 sq. ft. at 1" (2.8 square meters at 25 mm) thick. Due to its composition and low thermal conductivity, CalCoat-127 is recommended for finishing use with calcium silicate or perlite insulation in high-temperature piping and equipment applications. CalCoat 127 can also be used to fill voids in mineral wool insulations. Because of its corrosion inhibiting properties, it is especially recommended for industrial processing and power generating facility applications and operating at temperatures up to 1200°F (650°C). Application Instructions
1. Mix with clean water until desired consistency is reached.
2. Set time approx. 2 hrs. (depends upon environmental conditions).
3. Allow to cure for 24 hrs. prior to applying heat.
